My white and black cake!


So it started with me experimenting with my new spring form pan…I decided to bake a chocolate cake first at 10pm in the night…with some walnuts…simply cos i had them..: D…and i decided that next morning i will make chocolate ganache and frost my cake up…but i kept thinking it was too short a cake..So in my sleep I dreamt of a huge two flavored cake..:D

So before work…which is btw at 1030 am i decided to make a yellow butter cake and then use all 500 gms of my chocolate and make lots of chocolate ganache! And the result was the following!!

For the chocolate cake

Ingredients

1/2 cup (50 grams) Dutch-processed cocoa powder

1 cup (240 ml) boiling hot water

1 1/3 cups (175 grams) all purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup (113 grams) unsalted butter, room temperature

1 cup (200 grams) granulated white sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

Hand-full walnuts

I just mix the dry ingredients in a bowl and wet in another and then slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture and work my magic wand!!Ok the mini amazing food processor…

And just line my beloved spring form pan with some parchment paper and put the cake in the preheated oven for 35 min at 150 degrees. And viola!!We have a chocolate cake!!

For the Butter-cake

2 large eggs,

1 3/4 cups (175 grams) sifted all purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup (113 grams) unsalted butter, at room temperature

1 cup (200 grams) granulated white sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup (120 ml) milk

1/8 teaspoon heavy cream

Same as above…mix the dry and the wet and then mix them both and abracadabra with my magic wand and in it goes in a preheated oven at 150 degrees for 40 mins!!And we have our second layer ready to go!!

Chocolate Ganache

500 gms dark semi sweet chocolate

1 1/2 cups of heavy cream

4 tea spoons of unsalted butter

Chop the chocolate and put it in the bowl u want to store it in and then

Microwave the heavy cream and butter till it is boiling.

Pour the hot cream and butter mixture over the chocolate. Let it stay for 1 min and then gently fold the mixture to form a rich gooey chocolate ganache!!

Final assembly!!

Refrigerate all the 3 components (chocolate cake, butter cake and ganache).Keep the butter cake on a plate and spread the ganache over it (be generous!)Next comes the walnut chocolate cake amazingness and ganache over it.

Finally cute silver ornaments on top of it to give it the special effect!!
